Screenings & Discussions
ruins full of futures

Ruins Full of Futures features five films that differently represent the relationship between place-making, collective desire, and the ideas that shape the spaces we live, work and socialise in.
Three filmmakers join an open conversation after the screening, where we discuss our experience of social, cultural and commercial spaces: the impressions they impart on us, the futures they foreclose on and the futures they make seem possible.
I made a poster for the event, which is derivative of Yokoo Tadanori’s poster for the 1966 publication The City and Design, The Wonders of Life on Earth by Isamu Kurita. I discovered this poster in an essay by Ryan Holmberg at the end of a deranged comic book called “The Pits of Hell” by Ebisu Yoshikazu.
