Experiments

I have been experimenting with montage since studying A Dialectic Approach to Film Form” by Sergei Eisenstein during my undergraduate degree. I use footage from video games, youtube and The Internet Archive. I also use recordings I’ve shot myself using my smartphone or 2011 camcorder. I make soundtracks using Bosca Ceoil: The Blue Album. I have used default filename to find footage, and youtube-dl to download clips.

I’m thinking about how to communicate meaning without using any spoken or written language. The meaning I’m trying to communicate is formal, these are all images that respond to the brief I gave myself of “circles and lines”. Video game footage is from Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, using the Earth as Moon mod.
